Bureaucracy, corruption hampers economic growth: SBY

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono admitted on Friday that arduous bureaucracy and corruption had hampered the economic growth of the country.
He said at a working meeting with Vice President Boediono, cabinet ministers and Bank Indonesia Governor in Bogor Palace that infrastructure problems were another obstruction for economic growth, antaranews.com reported.

“In the past, security was the obstruction, especially during the beginning of the crisis and even years after the crisis. But now, it turns out that bureaucracy is the (main) obstruction, second, infrastructure and third, corruption,” he said.
He said the bureaucracy problem occurred not only in the central but also regional government.
To improve the infrastructure, the president said that all governors in the country had agreed to reduce the routine budget and transferred the fund to build infrastructures.
